Alchemist Management, the Los Angeles-based firm founded by M.C. Hammer, announced Thursday the addition of fighters Liz Carmouche, Chad Robichaux and Mike Hayes to its roster of MMA clients.
A former U.S. Marine, Carmouche was last seen on March 5 challenging Marloes Coenen for the Strikeforce women’s 135-pound title. Stepping in as a late replacement for the injured Miesha Tate, “Girl-Rilla” took the fight to the champion early, grounding Coenen multiple times in the first three rounds and landing heavy blows from top position. The champion proved resilient, however, and ultimately handed Carmouche her first defeat with a slick, fourth-round triangle choke submission.
Robichaux, 35, is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt with an unblemished MMA record of 11-0. The bantamweight most recently earned a split decision over Humberto DeLeon at Strikeforce “Houston” last August. Up next for “Robo” is a non-title bout with Bellator 135-pound champion Zach Makovsky at Bellator 41 on April 16.
A two-time Bellator veteran, Hayes holds a record of 15-4-1, including 11 wins by knockout or submission. Known as “300,” the Washington native has won seven of his last eight contests and has never been finished as a professional.
