SRN Rewind Teaser: Frank Shamrock

Frank Shamrock has stood at the intersection of many of mixed martial arts' most important developments. As a fighter, he was at the vanguard of cardiovascular and endurance training. As a self-promoter, he charted a course for how to draw a record attendance without a television platform. As a businessman, he was involved in ventures that made several things clear about the essence and financial realities of the sport.

Always an honest interview, Shamrock has sharpened his perspectives on the fighting life and business in retirement. In his new book "Uncaged," the man born Frank Juarez delves deep into childhood trauma, juvenile incarceration and fight politics.

In a special two-part "Sunday Sitdown" interview, Shamrock joined Sherdog Radio Network "Rewind" host Jack Encarnacao to delve deeper into the pivotal moments he was a part of in the development of MMA. From the Tito Ortiz fight, to the Lions Den, to selling out HP Pavilion, to retiring after falling to Nick Diaz, Shamrock brings an edgy, sharp insight in these two one-hour installments.

Part 1 premiered on last Sunday's Rewind, and can be downloaded here. In it, the 39-year-old Shamrock discusses his youth, his delinquency, training under Ken Shamrock, fighting while scared for his life in Pancrase, and the revelatory moments in the 1999 classic fight versus Ortiz.

Part 2 premieres on this Sunday's "Rewind," which begins at 9 p.m. ET. Shamrock talks about life at the peak of his ascension in the sport, his emotional attachment and contributions to Strikeforce, Dana White, and how so many things came undone.

Don't miss one of the most in-depth interviews ever conducted with Frank Shamrock, only on the SRN Rewind.
