When Conor McGregor’s wish for a fight with UFC featherweight champion was finally granted, the MMA world knew an endless onslaught of insult-laden trash talk was forthcoming. As it turned out, McGregor exceeded all expectations in that regard.

Aside from insulting Aldo’s record, his fighting style, his name, his scar, his manhood and his alleged fear, McGregor upped the ante by telling the Brazilian in his native tongue that he was going to die. He degraded Aldo in ways that would have made RoastMaster General Jeff Ross proud. McGregor never stopped badgering his rival. During a press stop in Ireland, McGregor crossed the podium and snatched the Brazilian’s belt. A rib injury forced Aldo off of their original date, but McGregor simply shifted his taunts into overdrive until they finally locked horns at UFC 194. You know the rest.
