Prates, 31, steps into the spotlight on an absolute tear. The Vale Top Team and Fighting Nerds rep has rattled off 10 consecutive victories, nine of them finishes, and carries the look of a star on the rise at 170 pounds. Prates last suited up at UFC 305, where he wiped out Jingliang Li with punches in the second round of their Aug. 17 encounter. Magny, meanwhile, has alternated wins and losses in each of his past seven appearances. The Elevation Fight Team mainstay last saw action on Aug. 24, when he succumbed to punches from Michael Morales in the second round of their UFC on ESPN 62 confrontation. Magny, 37, holds the all-time record for victories by a UFC welterweight with 22.
UFC Vegas 100 “Magny vs. Prates” also features a middleweight clash pairing Reinier de Ridder (-300) with Gerald Meerschaert (+225), a women’s strawweight tilt pitting Gillian Robertson (-375) against Luana Pinheiro (+275) and a middleweight tiff matching Mansur Abdul-Malik (-365) with Dusko Todorovic (+265). Women’s strawweights anchor the undercard, as Dana White’s Contender Series graduate Denis Gomes (-550) takes on former Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki champion Karolina Kowalkiewicz (+375) in the featured prelim at 115 pounds.
