Anderson Silva Tested Positive for Anxiety, Insomnia Medications Following UFC 183

Anderson Silva failed another drug test following UFC 183.
The former middleweight champion tested positive for Oxazepam and Temazepam in a post-fight urine test administered on Jan. 31. Oxazepam is used to relieve anxiety, while Temazepam is an anti-insomnia medication. In addition, “The Spider” again tested positive from drostanolone metabolites . The Nevada Athletic Commission revealed the results of the second failed test on Tuesday.

According to a report from ESPN.com, Silva’s fight-night sample arrived at the lab in Salt Lake City on Feb. 2, and the results were reported to the NAC on Feb. 10.
Silva, who has denied taking performance enhancing drugs, defeated Diaz via unanimous decision in the UFC 183 headliner. It was the Brazilian’s first fight since gruesomely breaking his leg in a loss to Chris Weidman at UFC 168.
