Brandon Vera Makes One FC Debut Against Igor Subora at ‘Warrior’s Way’ on Dec. 5

Brandon Vera will fight Ukrainian Igor Subora at One Fighting Championship “Warrior’s Way” on Dec. 5 in Manila, Philippines.

While it has been known that Vera would debut for the promotion at the event, the Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran’s opponent had not yet been announced. Sherdog.com has confirmed with a source close to the promotion that Subora is the man with the task.

One FC 24 will emanate from the Mall of Asia Arena and will also feature a featherweight championship fight, featuring the first title defense for Jadamba Narantungalag when he takes on Eric Kelly. Also likely in action will be Eduard Folayang, but his opponent is yet to be confirmed.

A tweener capable of competing at 205 pounds or above, Vera (12-7) was last seen at UFC 164, where he was stopped by Ben Rothwell in a heavyweight contest. “The Truth” will continue fighting at heavyweight, when he takes on the massive sambo-based fighter.

Subora, a former Universal Reality Combat Championship kingpin, has won five straight bouts since losing his mixed martial arts debut to Pete Brooks. Of his five wins, none of Sugar Free’s fights have ever reached the judges’ scorecards.
