Controversial Ex-NFL Star Greg Hardy’s Third Pro Fight Set for Sept. 29 on UFC Fight Pass

Fight fans can continue to track the development of controversial former NFL star Greg Hardy on UFC Fight Pass.

The UFC announced Wednesday that Hardy’s next bout against Ray Jones at Xtreme Fight Night 352 in Tulsa, Okla., will air on the streaming platform on Sept. 29.

“I’m excited to be back,” Hardy said. “I’ve been patiently waiting to get back in the cage. I love this; if I could fight every month I’d be even happier. … I’m really enjoying the process of understanding the game. I’ve been cleaning some things up – so I can finish fights even faster. Tune-in and watch me get my hand raised again.”

Hardy earned a UFC developmental deal with a 57-second technical knockout of Austen Lane on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series on June 12 in his his pro MMA debut. He returned to the Contender Series on Aug. 7, scoring a 17-second stoppage of Tebaris Gordon.

The UFC’s decision to sign Hardy was controversial because of the allegations of domestic violence against the former NFL Pro Bowler. In July 2014 Hardy was found guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend and missed the majority of the season after being placed on the commissioner’s exempt list. He was sentenced to 18 months’ probation, but charges from the case were later dropped, and Hardy’s record was expunged.
