WSOF signs Brian Foster, Benny Madrid, and Bryson Hanson

(PRESS RELEASE) -- LAS VEGAS (Nov. 22, 2013) - World Series of Fighting is pleased to announce the addition of seven-year veteran welterweight Brian Foster (19-6), Arizona-based lightweight Benny Madrid (7-1) and impressive young bantamweight Bryson Hansen (6-1) to the company's roster of athletes.

"Our World Series of Fighting family continues to grow, and I can't wait to see this latest group of guys step into the decagon," World Series of Fighting President Ray Sefo said. "Brian Foster, Benny Madrid and Bryson Hansen are all incredibly talented athletes that I think can make an immediate impact in our promotion, and fans can expect to see them in early 2014.

"We also signed a new deal with Bryson's brother, Brensen Hansen, who has looked fantastic in his two appearances for World Series of Fighting. Our roster just keeps looking better and better each day."

A 29-year-old Illinois native, Foster joins the promotion on the strength of a 5-1 mark in his past six fights. Incredibly, Foster has never fought to a decision in his 25 career fights, and he owns 10 victories by submission, as well as another nine by knockout.

Foster is perhaps best known for a five-fight stint for the UFC. He left the promotion after consecutive wins over Matt Brown and Forrest Petz when health concerns forced him to take some time off, but Foster has since rebounded with three stoppage wins in four appearances, including two first-round tapout wins.

"I'm grateful for the opportunity to compete in the WSOF," Foster said. "The company continues to sign great talent, and I'm happy to be a part of the team and take this chance to rise to my true potential. I just want to show the world what I'm capable of when I'm at my best, and this is a great place to do it."

Madrid turned pro in 2009 and rattled off nine straight wins to begin his career. Six of those victories came by way of stoppage, including four triumphs by way of knockout and two via submission. Along the way, "El Hijo" was crowned lightweight champ of the Arizona-based World Fighting Federation.

Madrid fought most recently in September, when he fell just short in a bid to unseat King of the Cage 155-pound champ Victor Meza, losing the hard-fought, 25-minute contest via unanimous decision.

"It would be an incredibly proud honor to fight on NBCSN. I've never been on TV before. I'm kind of ugly though," Madrid joked. "I should do one of those GEICO commercials with the caveman.

"Jokes aside, my focus is not on the cameras. It's about being the best fighter I can be and to show everyone how much heart I've got."

The Hawaiian-born Hansen brothers now reside in Las Vegas, home of World Series of Fighting. The two Xtreme Couture products have built an impressive record early in their career.

Promotional newcomer Bryson was a bantamweight champion in the Hawaiian-based X-1 promotion and was also selected as a cast member of "The Ultimate Fighter 14." He fought most recently in May, where he earned a first-round TKO win over Jesus Alvarado.

Four of Bryson's six career wins have come by way of knockout.

Meanwhile, Brenson Hansen (5-1) is currently riding a three-fight win streak. The featherweight has fought for World Series of Fighting twice, scoring wins over Josh Montalvo and Tom Marcellino.

"It's going to be good to be working alongside my brother for the WSOF," Bryson said. "There will be bigger and better things to come from me in my career, and fighting on NBCSN and the international broadcast partners they have planned can only elevate me as a fighter."

World Series of Fighting will host its first Canadian event with "WSOF 7: Kharakanyan vs. Palmer" on Dec. 7 at the PNE Agrodome in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Georgi Karakhanyan and Lance Palmer headline the NBCSN-televised card, competing for the inaugural WSOF featherweight title. The telecast starts at 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. ET and is preceded by undercard fights streaming live on www.WSOF.com beginning at 3 p.m. PT/6 p.m. ET.
