No fighter made a bigger statement at UFC Fight Night 207 than Movsar Evloev.
The 28-year-old Russian dominated Dan Ige in all facets of their featherweight co-main event at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas on Saturday, blending in takedowns with crisp striking en route to a clear-cut unanimous decision triumph. Evloev is undefeated in 16 professional appearances and owns a five-bout winning streak at 145 pounds — the fourth-longest active winning streak in the division. His performance against Ige was considerably more impressive than the victory Chan Sung Jung took against “50K” approximately a year ago, which allows the former M-1 Global champion to climb from 14th to 10th in Sherdog.com's latest divisional rankings.
Elsewhere, Alexander Volkov made short work of Jairzinho Rozenstruik in the UFC Fight Night 207 headliner, putting “Bigi Boy” away with a volley of power punches 2:12 into Round 1 of their heavyweight showcase. While the eighth-ranked Volkov can’t advance due to a recent head-to-head loss against Tom Aspinall, Rozenstruik drops from ninth to 10th after losing for the third time in his last four outings.
